I had a better weekend than normal. We did a lot of the normal stuff: going to the coffee shop, going to the bookstore, watching the Bruins lose, reading, sleep, playing video games (finally beat Zelda), e&c. But this weekend there was the adding benefit of clearing off the pond near our home and going skating. I’m really excited that it is now cold enough to go skating over there. Having to drive to a rink and then pay money is not nearly as fun. Plus, on Sunday, five of us got together for some pond hockey. We were out there for about 3 hours with little or no water… I think I’m still recovering from the dehydration. Dave took some photos and a movie, which I will post if I ever get them.
Plus the refs made a bad call last week against the Patriots. You don’t say…
I started working on a project for the Scientist and I realized that it is nice to have something constructive to do when not at work. While this probably may have something to do with me feel I don’t do anything constructive at work it is also a way of improving myself and learning something new. I’m looking forward to finishing it up later this week, which should give me satisfaction for having completed something… another thing I don’t get at work.
Besides that, things have died down after the holidays. I’m still playing Zelda, though nearing the end. I’m still playing hockey. We are still going to have a kid. People are still using there time constructively by modifying their cars to look like A-Wings. I’m still trying to over come my incredible desire to procrastinate at work. We are still planning on going to London in 3+ weeks. People are once again looking for alternative energy sources. I wonder how much putting a geothermal heat pump into our condo would cost?
Check out this video. The jumps between topics are rather nonsensical but extremely amusing. I was amused by the three sources of religious doubt.
Also, see the inspiration for the movie over at http://indexed.blogspot.com/. I subscribed to it because I think it’ll inject a bit of humor into my days.
Since I have never had to worry about my weight I never gained a real appreciation of how many calories are in what food. I always heart that fast food is bad, but how does that compare to, say, a bowl of ketchup? Well, if you are interested check out this site. It show what 200 calories of different food looks like. I think that the list is a little short (where’s the beer? and what’s with only using Jack-in-the-box fast food?) and it would be nice to compare specific items side-by-side, but it is something.
I found this site via Information Aesthetics.
Now, I’ve never been a fan of smart phones, mostly because they look like a pain in the ass to use, but the new iPhone looks cool. Below are some images from engadget. The thing is small and looks really easy to use… just use your finger(s) (multi-point touchscreen). Now if only it wasn’t a cingular exclusive. I hate exclusive offers. Maybe if I get a new job I can get them to get me this!
Stupid Pascal pseudo-code! It would take a person with an incredibly illogical mind to understand you! I am not crazy enough to understand its labyrinthine syntax! Fie, fie upon thee, strumpet.

It is a new year, and it has been a while since I have posted anything. This Xmas and New Years’ were pretty low key. I was sick for much of the holiday and, with the baby on the way, the Scientist isn’t really up for getting blitzed. Here is what I did instead of posting (I’m listing because I do not feel like writing in coherent sentences… i.e. fuck transitions).
- Was sick. Slept and used kleenex.
- Played Slime Rocket (now known as Slime Z.Monkey).
- Played Zelda.
- Installed a cat door between or finished and unfinished basements.
- Yelled at Dun because he is too stupid to learn how to use said cat door.
- Went to the camp and burned wood.
- Read World War Z and was amused (note my chance of surviving the Zombie War is 31%).
- Saw –ThatGuy, KP, D14, and Dan. Briefly.
- Other stuff that I cannot remember or don’t matter.
- Had a job interview… should get a call back this week.
Now it is time to work. Crap…
